Pilot

We are introduced to The Vampire Diaries in this first episode, firstly being introduced to Elena and Jeremy Gilbert – two siblings, recently orphaned living in the town by the name of Mystic Falls in the state of Virginia, USA. Elena is protective of her brother and is constantly checking up on him as he is prone to drug taking and seems to be falling in with the wrong crowd (especially lusting after a certain Vicki Donavan who sadly for Jeremy seems to be dating Tyler). Cue a vampire – Stefan Salvatore to be precise turning up (or returning rather as we later learn) to this sleepy town. Stefan lives with his uncle Zach and as most old vampires do these days – attends the local high school. Elena Gilbert and Stefan meet and soon develop a lust for each other, Elena being almost the exact lookalike for a previous love of Stefan’s from well over 100 years ago (a Katherine in 1864). Soon the bad brother of Stefan – Damon Salvatore makes an appearance. The brothers differing in character wildly – Stefan – good vamp (non human eater), and Damon – bad vamp (eats humans). The episode closes with Elena inviting Stefan into her house.
