Bonnie and Elena find themselves trapped in a hotel room under the watch of Ben, the newly turned vampire. After a series of failed escape attempts it is finally Stefan who rescues them, using the help of Bonnies grandmother who was able to cast a location finding spell. Stefan breaks in allowing daylight to enter burning Ben, rather than killing him he tells Ben to leave and never come back.

All in soon and and Bonnie convince Shelia to open the tomb with them, this they do but do not say that they haven’t broken the seal that means that vampires cannot pass out of it. Elena feeds Pearl with Elena’s bloody however unbeknown to her she is not actually a gentic Gilbert. Stefans hears her scream and runs into the team himself in an attempt to rescue her.

The witches managed to keep the seal open long enough everyone to get out, Damon realising Katherine isn’t in their at all. Anna knew this all along but didn’t tell him because she knew that he wouldn’t help her otherwise to get her mother out. Pearl informs them that Katherine had managed to charm her way out many years ago, and states that she last saw Katherine in Chicago in the 1980s. Obviously this puts Damn into deep depression, for all these years he has thought she was under the tom waiting to be rescued but instead she has always been free yet hasn’t made an effort to find him in anyway as far as we are aware.

A very enjoyable episode.
