Episode 13 Children of the Damned
Season 1,Episode 13 Children of the Damned Aired 4/2/10
Happily in bed Stefan and Elena are abruptly disturbed by Damon who is keen to get going on the task of releasing Katherine from the tomb.
Damon flirts with Jenna at Elenas house and then Jeremy and him start playing computer games. Elena and Damon cross trails while taking the plate back to the kitchen. Damon confronts Elena on if he will trust Stefan and Elena tells him he can. Jeremy tells Stefan, Damon and Elena that Alaric has his ancestor’s book. This leads onto a showdown between Stefan and Alaric. Alaric attempts to shoot Stefan with a wooden stake. But Stefan catches it and uncovers out what Alaric truly wants. He witnessed Damon kill his wife, but her body wasn’t found. Stefan announces he will protect Alaric, but he wishes that journal back. When they turn to have a look for it, though, the journal is gone. Alaric made photocopies of it and hands them over. As Elena and Stefan looks over this copied book, they understand that Emily’s spellbook – the grimoire – is buried with Stefan’s dad.
In the meantime, Damon discovers out that Jeremy told Anna about the journal. When Damon takes Jeremy to meet Anna at the Grill,he watches from a distance, he recognizes her : she is the child of a girl ( Pearl ) he knew in 1864. Pearl was a vampire and was Katherine’s close friend. Damon follows Anna back to her hotel room and confronts her. She has been here for a while, it seems, and likes to have “others do her grimy work.” She had turned Logan. She shows Damon the book she stole from Alaric because they both wish to open that crypt. His father was disappointed in him, but confided in both he and Stefan that the city was getting together to round up the vampires and burn them in a church. Damon made Stefan guarantee he would not tell his father about Katherine, who both siblings knew was a vampire and appeared to be both sleeping with.
Stefan gives in, but later asked his father general questions about whether all vampires were evil. This awakens suspicion and he ensures Stefan is kept safe. Emily comes up with a spell that made it possible for Katherine and Pearl to stroll in the daylight. Katherine has some private time with Stefan getting intimate and goes to bite him but his dad anonymously slipped him vervaine and Katherine is captured.
Damon blames Stefan for the event as he had put his faith in his sibling. Stefan says sorry but it falls on deaf ears. Jonathan Gilbert is with Pearl and his compass goes silly leading him to call his men to capture Pearl.
Anna witnesses this, but is told by Emily that she has got a plan to guard them. Ben is on a date with Bonnie, who kisses him. But her magical sense goes off and she knows he is a vampire. She makes a reason to go to the toliet to powder her nose and attempts to silently leave, but Ben grabs her. Damon finds Stefan and Elena with the grimoire. He tells Elena he was felt there was no longer any trust between them. He demands Stefan give the grimoire but Stefan tells him no, so he threatens Stefan to give the grimoire over or else he will turn Elena into a vampire. Stefan reluctantly hands it over in return for Elena. Elena and Stefan are at the Gilberts, when going downstairs to get aspirin they learn that somebody named Anna is there with Jeremy, just in the lavatory. Stefan makes the link to the Anna he recollects from 1864 and runs upstairs to check on Elena. He finds the window open and Elena gone.
