The reboot idea proved successful last year with the revival of 90210, so the CW is trying it again and bringing back another former Fox hit from beyond the grave. The original Melrose Place ran on Fox from 1992-1999. The reboot will take place at the same West Hollywood apartment complex as the first series, with original cast member Laura Leighton playing landlady to the hot new tenants. Leightons character Sydney Andrews was killed off at the end of the fifth season, so it should be interesting to see how producers have resurrected her (though SPOILER ALERT: Sydney will be killed off AGAIN at the end of the premiere episode.)

Thomas Calabro, the only cast member to have been with the series throughout its entire seven year run, will also be back as father to the shows newest bad boy David (Shaun Sipos). Other actors, such as Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga, will also appear in several episodes. The new cast includes Katie Cassidy, last seen in Harpers Island, as publicist Ella; Jessica Lucas as first grade teacher Riley; and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz as Violet, a new transplant to the city. The new Melrose will premiere on the CW on Dish Network on Tuesday September 8 at 9 p.m ET/PT. In my opinion, this show will probably do pretty good. Its a nice companion piece to 90210, which performed solidly in the ratings during its freshman season, and its previews offer plenty of scandal and drama, two things that the viewers just love.

Another new series is The Beautiful Life, starring the tabloid-troubled Mischa Barton. Barton has spent the last few weeks in the spotlight after being admitted to the hospital for several days. People have speculated everything from drug use to a suicide attempt, but in the end, the distraction did not keep Barton from fulfilling her commitments to her new show. On The Beautiful Life, Barton plays model Sonja, an aging supermodel who is looking to reclaim her place in the spotlight. Her attempts are sidelined by her friend Raina (Sara Paxton), an up and coming teenage beauty with a secret past (dont they all have secret pasts?) Also on board for some photo shoots is newly discovered Iowa farm boy Chris Andrews (Benjamin Hollingsworth), who is having trouble adjusting to the cutthroat-modeling world, and High School Musicals Corbin Bleu as a former child model who is trying to launch his music career.

The Beautiful Life debuts its runway strut on Wednesday September 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Finally, hoping to cash in on the Twilight/True Blood craze is the new Kevin Williamson-penned series The Vampire Diaries. Nina Dobrev (Degrassi: The Next Generation) stars as 17-year-old Elena Gilbert. She and her 15-year-old brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen, who just finished filming Piranha 3D) are still trying to cope with their grief and move on with their lives after the death of their parents. Elena, who has always been the star student, finds herself struggling to hide her sadness from the world. When the school year begins, Elena and her friends are fascinated by a handsome and mysterious new student, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Stefan and Elena are immediately drawn to one another, and Elena has no way of knowing that Stefan is a centuries-old vampire (of course), struggling to live peacefully among humans.

On the other side of the spectrum is his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder who played the ill-fated Boone on “Lost”), who believes vampires should be all about violence and blood instead of poems and cuddling. Williamson formerly wrote and created Dawsons Creek, and also penned both Scream and Scream 2. Early buzz around the sappy vamps-in-love drama is not great time will tell if it will survive the season. Despite the popularity of vampire literature right now, I wouldnt be surprised if this show tanked and was cancelled after 6 episodes. If youre still interested, and want to take a bite out of these lovebirds, The Vampire Diaries premieres Thursday September 10th at 8 p.m. ET/PT 9 (though if vamps are what you crave, I highly recommend is always a veritable shark tank of new shows. In reality, very few of them make it out alive, but as part of the viewing audience its up to us to decide what we think sounds good and what we will skip.you check out HBO’s “True Blood” instead.) MGMT, My Morning Jacket and Pavement will join Vampire Weekend during this May extravaganza. While their tour has been flooding North American venues since early March, the group heads to Australia in May for the second part of their international promotion (they visited Europe in February). The group’s spring outing was announced early in 2010 following the release of the sophomore set Contra, an album that earned promotion with the singles “Cousins,” “White Sky” and “Horchata.” The eclectic sound has been getting commercial exposure since “Cousins” found airtime with brand names, and though the group still works with indie pop label XL, they expose their sound to mainstream audiences with tours alongside Phoenix.

Vampire Weekend released Contra following the 2008 eponymous debut, exposing the world to frontman Ezra Koenig’s varying vocal tonalities that were just as much of an instrument as the group’s extensive list of harmonizing tools. The electric pop hymns that pour from Contra reveal a tight knit group of youngsters who’ve gotten the knack for the rock star gig. Yet according to Billboard.com, the group hasn’t really felt the fame of true blooded rock stars.

The gigs are strong and flowing, but chart success hasn’t been as evident. The January release debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart as Vampire Weekend saw a surge on the same chart (returning to the chart at number 123 after nine months). The group’s full album sees more success than their singles, as Billboard reports. “Cousins,” “Run” or “Horchata” have not made the Billboard Hot 100; rather the group finds success on Billboard’s Alternative Songs and Rock Songs chart, barely skirting the top.

“I think what makes our music work is our approach to keeping things simple, so we wanted to continue in that vein,” Rostam Batmanglij said to Rolling Stone in January. “It was important for us to capture that kind of homemade quality to our recordings; so we kinda tried to do that on this record, but at the same time kind of take it to a bigger place…and also a more intimate place.” The group, though hailing from New York, found inspiration in California without ever stepping foot there – the group found “a sense of longing” for the West Coast as they recorded a laid back, free-spirited sound that came with the 10 tracks like “California English” and “Taxi Cab.”

The actress,singer, dancer and model was born to a Russian Jewish mother and Liberian father in Geneva, Switzerland 1989 making her 20 in 2010. The young actress attended a Hebrew school and can speak Portuguese French and Spanish to name a few languages. The actress considers that after being exposed to such a multicultural background from such a young age this has made her succeed later on in life and pushed her forward in her career. After her father stopped working with the United Nations in Switzerland they moved to Los Angeles, California and she was raised there.

From a small child up till the age of 14, the young Katerina could be found to star in a number of commercials such as Pop Tarts, Barbie and K-Mart and also a number of television series aired in the USA as regular and also one-off characters. One of her big breaks came when she was able to take over from another child star on the Disney Channel. Soon after this she was asked to appear in a music video as a dance for Lil Bow Wow (taken on by Snoop Dog and his record label). After this she was asked by other leading choreographers to be a backing dancer for various other big, name acts such as Pharell, Missy Eliot and Micheal Rooney. During this time Katerina explored music as a career and became a self taught producer and composer with one of her songs being featured in a Jean Claude Van-Damme film.

Staying within the music scene she appeared in many other music videos whilst she produced her own work whilst also continuing with acting, appearing in major profile series such as CSI, The OC,Malcom in the Middle and Hannah Montanna. Another big break came to her aged 17, when Coca-Cola asked her to become one of the “Fantanas” marketing their Fanta brand of soft drink, during this period she completed her degree in music recording too.

Aside from starring in The Vampire Diaries, Katerina Graham continues to rise in her stardom. Recently completing a tour and featuring on 2 songs from The Black Eyed Peas latest album. Jenna tells Elena that she’s discovered the identity of her birth mother.

Isobel Flemming, of Grove Hill, Virginia, gave her up for adoption to other parents when she had been in high school. Jenna also provides Elena the address of Trudie Peterson, Isobel’s previous best good friend.

When ,eventually Elena trails Trudie down, she provides a unfortunate seventeen-year-old a handful of answers about her entry into the world, especially in regards to her mother – but she also clearly knows much more in her mind than she’s is willing to currently divulge.

Trudie texts an unknown number to say “She’s here” after Elena arrives, continue to provide her with a tea brew made of vervain.

When Elena notices that something’s up, Trudie suddenly demands that she leaves her home that very second.

Trudie gets another surprise visitor: a man we’ve never seen before.A new character that we need to learn more about, this strange new man thanks her for the text then oddly murders her.
Now a ghost Isobel decides to hanut the rest of the shows cast just as Jenna informs Alaric that Elena’s dead mother and ex wife (dead) are the same person!

Back at school, the history teacher then asks for the attention of Stefan. He wants the vampire to interrogate his brother for more information about Damon’s relationship with Isobel.

Eventually, thanks to a background check conducted by Sheriff Elizabeth, Damon learns the connection between Isobel and Alaric. At a benefit for Founder’s Day, he smugly implies to Alaric that he had killed Isobel.

When she hears Damon’s apparent confession, Elena flees with Stefan in tow. The two run into a mysterious stranger outside of the benefit..

“Stop looking,” he tells Elena when she steps outside. “She doesn’t want to know you.”

Luckily, Elena thinks to swipe his cell phone before she leaves the scene of the crime.

The next day, she takes it out and redials its most recent call.

A woman answers, asking, “Was there a problem? Did you find her?”

When Elena replies, “Isobel?” her mother hangs up.

Alaric, too, learns that Isobel isn’t exactly dead when he heads to Damon’s house right after the auction, intending to stake him. Damon confesses that he “turned” the man’s wife – according to him, Isobel was begging to become transformed right into a vampire.

When Alaric attacks Damon, the vampire nonchalantly stabs the man, then sits back so he can watch him bleed to death. After a commercial break, Damon exits the room, leaving his brother to stare at Alaric’s splayed body.

But out of the blue, Alaric’s fingers twitch … and he gets up! Does he have vampire blood as part of his system? No: he’s got a magic ring, thanks Isobel. The plot gets heavier.

As for Matt and Caroline, they’re busy managing Kelly, Matt’s mom. Kelly has finally come home after an extended absence.

She isn’t afraid about letting Caroline know she doesn’t like her, mainly due to the fact she despises Mrs. Lockwood.

But Kelly isn’t as strong as she initially looks: because her latest boyfriend just broke up with her, she has to rely on Matt for support. Her son assures her he isn’t going somewhere near the show’s conclusion.

Throughout the episode, the lone vampire who escaped from the tomb pops up a few times. He kills a hiker inside the woods, then steals his 21st-century clothes.

He strides about the town, impressed at modern days. At the conclusion of the episode, he finds Pearl, one of many other vampires within the tomb. Pearl’s companion invites him in to her home.

The Vampire Diaries Episode

Due to some accident occurring within last episodes spell we learn that all twenty seven of the 1864 vampires have been released from the tomb!

Matts mother returns to town and as per usual he is acting as the adult and she as the out of control partying teenager. Caroline arrive at the house and they make their excuses and leave. Stefan tells Elena that Damon still isnt talking to him and Caroline mentions her vampire mother and how they should just get on with little things.

Matt/Caroline and Stefan/Elena rather reluctantly agree to go on a double date with each other and put previous issues behind them, to have some “fun”. Meanwhile two unwelcome vampire (Pearl and Annabelle-her daughter) arrive at Damons and he is unable to overpower them,learning that they wish to return to Mystic Falls and want the inside information on the local council members and that it’s a non-negotiable request.

Damon and Kelly meet in a bar, both nursing their respective wounds from the night before whilst the double daters endure a difficult evening with Elena being mistaken for Katherine by one of the local new vampires who has taken a night out from their new home. The foursome return home to the Salvatore home whilst the vampires get annoyed that there is so much vervain being taken by the townsfolk.

Jeremy puts Anna into a position which forced her to out herself as a vampire, drinking blood from his cut hand. Thankfully Jenna returns home which brings the incident to an early end as does Damon and Kellys antics when the double date team drop Matt home.

Stefan soon learns that the tomb vampire are actually back and the episode concludes with Jeremy asking Anna to turn him into a vampire – rather suprising.
